Q.6 why we are using crank length in rcc slab reinforcement?

Ans. We used Crank lengths because the moments at the edge strips are negative while that at middle point are positive, so reinforcement are alternatively equipped at the top and bottom respectively. so just to make connection between the reinforcement and for the slab to behave like a single unit by providing continuous bars, cranking is have to done in slabs.

Q.1 What is meant by elastic limit? 

Ans. The maximum extent to which a solid may be stretched without permanent alteration of size or shape.
Q.2 What is the difference between BC and SDBC ?

Ans BC- Bituminous Concrete
SDBC- Semi Dense Bituminous Concrete
Q.3 What is the basic difference in absorption, adsorption, and sorption?

Ans.Absorption is a phenomenon where an atom, molecule particle or ions enter any bulk phase like gas, solid or liquid. Absorption refers to the phenomenon where energy of photon is transferred to other entity.
Adsorption is quite same to absorption. It refers to the surface rather than a volume. Adsorption occurs when the gas or liquid solute accumulates on the surface of solid. A substance diffuses or mixed in liquid or solid to form a solution.
Q.4 What is the meaning of Fe415 ?
Ans Fe415 rafers for Ferrous material ie iron from which the reinforcement steel bars are manufactured. The number 415 indicates that the Yield Strength (tensile strength when it is subjected to elongation) of steel is 415 N/mm2.
The reinforcement steel bars used in RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) are designated in grades of Fe250, Fe415 or Fe500 depending on their Yield Strength.
